The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, and the Director of Secondary School Sierra Minera, Tembleque Félix Sánchez-Palomino, opened the eighth week of the IES Mathematics Sierra Minera to be developed in the town until next April 27 .
On the occasion of the declaration by UNESCO of the International Year of Mathematics in 2000, a group of teachers of IES Sierra Minera devised to organize a week mathematics in which offer a much broader view of this matter.
The Eighth Week Theme is shaft to mathematics and, in a special way, fractals.
All participating departments (Language, Technology, English and Science) activities carried on working in an interdisciplinary mathematics.
The development of the Thematic Week VIII, consisting of different classroom workshop and exhibition is the culmination of course work by students showing the activities carried out during the academic year.
Is scheduled to visit the Thematic Week VIII a total of 31 schools in the city and region, representing more than 1,800 students.
The Eighth Week Theme IES Sierra Mining is the Old Public Market location of La Union.
