In the afternoon yesterday opened to traffic on the boulevard stretch zero-Cartagena La Union.
This section is for Portman Avenue, access to the mining town from the N-332.
Councillor for Infrastructure, Carlos Martinez, accompanied by Chief Engineer Infrastructure of the City of La Union, Juan José Sánchez, and Industrial Engineer, José Juan González, visited the area to verify the completion of work.
This project has provided the comprehensive renewal of the asphalt road and the construction of new sidewalks, noting, among other improvements, the construction of a new roundabout at the junction of the current Lazareto to facilitate access to the Spot and local cemetery.
Similarly, the construction of the roundabout will be a rate reduction at the entrance to the Union.
The main advantage of this project for pedestrians lies in the construction of a sidewalk that connects the beginning of Main Street and the cemetery.
The cost of these works amounted to 300,000 euros, of which 265,000 are funded by the Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Community.
Moreover, it is expected that the fitting of section 1 of the Cartagena-La Union Boulevard (corresponding to the segment comprising the rotunda of the Sports Centre and the Place of Hope, which defines both municipalities) should commence next month .
