The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, and Social Policy Adviser, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana have made this morning a visit to the occupational therapy center Andrés Martínez Cánovas Foundation of La Union.
They have also come to visit the Secretary General of the Ministry, Fernando Mateo, the Managing Director of the Institute of Social Action Murciano, Isabel Sola, the Director General of Pensions, Assessment and Inclusion Programs, John Brown, the Councillor of Social Services City of La Union, Mary Hermogenes, Councillor of Culture, Julio Garcia, and Councillor for Economic Affairs, Maria Dolores Barrett.
The Director of Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana has been received by the Director of the center, Herminia Baeza.
During the visit, students are chatting with the Mayor and Councillor for them to get their concerns and explain their daily work.
Moreover, Bascuñana has delivered to the center of a TV for leisure and recreation of students.
This TV has been donated by the Board and the Office of the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration.
Andrés Martínez Cánovas Foundation, whose management is in the autonomous region, serves a total of 46 users of La Union and neighboring towns affected by physical and mental disabilities.
The workforce of the Foundation consists of director / psychologist, social worker, educator, two caregivers, three deputies of production (studio teacher), cleaning, plus night-shift security guard.
Foundation students receive occupational therapy modules carpentry, pottery and greenhouses, from 9:00 hours to 17:00 hours.
The Foundation provides transportation and dining.
