A total of 63 bidders have applied to take charge of the restoration work and social integration of the gullies of the downloader, The Pier, Porras and El Duende the municipality of La Union.

Technicians from the Segura basin began drafting the project in March 2009 after intense lobbying by the Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, with officials of the Confederacy in preceding months.
The project, involving the construction of breakwaters and revegetation with native flora, ended in October of that year.
In addition, help avoid flooding and restore these rivers for the use of residents.
For the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, "is an undoubted success having achieved that the central government meets our demands.
Now, after many meetings with the Segura basin, we have made the project goes ahead at last.

Bernabe added that "so far nobody had been able to address the issue because all the solutions have been limited to cleaning and clearing of channels, which was just a temporary solution."
It is envisaged that the work that will be extended for eight months, should commence next summer.
The works will involve an investment of three million euros (€ 2,824,313).
