The City of La Union has brought to contest the wording of the proposed extension and improvement of the Mining Museum in the town.
This action associated with construction of an auditorium.
The new Mining Museum is divided into the basement and ground floor.
The project's goal is to convert the Mining Museum in an exhibition space and teaching art, fun, attractive, participatory approach to museum enveloping the use of resources and new technologies that invite to discover the mining heritage of the Union .
In the basement museum discourse be developed which includes the reproduction of a mine gallery and a media room.
The inclusion of the auditorium on the ground floor is intended to give the city a wide multidisciplinary focus to socio-cultural environment for the construction on the site of concerts, conferences, lectures, theater, cinema, etc.
Have an approximate capacity of 250 seats.
On the ground floor will house the Regional Research Centre of Mines to become a reference in this field.
There will also archive and library.
Similarly, there will be space for a gift shop, concierge, administration and temporary exhibition hall.
The project represents a cost of 2,600,000 euros, of which 2,100,000 from the Ministry of Culture of the Autonomous Community.
The municipal contribution amounting to 500,000 euros for the acquisition of the land annexed to the Lyceum Building Laborers.
The City Council has been able to meet this expenditure from the sale of seven industrial parcels Bolarín The Industrial Estate to the Public Land and Business Equipment in the Region of Murcia, SAU (SEREMUR).
