The Minister of Presidency, Pedro María Reverte, accompanied by the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, made a visit to the town where he has visited the site of the new headquarters of the Local Police in La Union, located in the building Progress .

The new units of local police, equipped with greater breadth and functionality that today, will be located on the ground floor and basement of the El Progreso.
This building, which hosted the Town Hall for a century, and welcomes the Magistrates Court and Civil Registry, the Adult Education Center and the Municipal Library.
The new headquarters, which will have a surface area of 600 m2, will have offices, meeting rooms, training room, locker rooms and gym.
The new headquarters of the Local Police in La Union, which represents an investment of the Ministry of the Presidency of 192,000 euros, will be inaugurated on March by the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel.
Also in that same time, the local police, whose staff has already reached the 34 troops, will have a new vehicle for the development of their work.
This new investment is estimated at another 30,000 euros.
Moreover, the Minister Reverte also visited the urban center of La Union zone which is completing the draft semipeatonalización.
The semipeatonalización from the center of La Union has resulted in the cobbled paving of all city streets, removing architectural barriers, as well as the beautification of their environment.
The investment in the Autonomous Community semipeatonalización the project reaches 800,000 euros.
Work is expected to be completed next March.
With regard to works of semipeatonalización, Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, highlighted "the significant progress experienced aesthetic of the city center as well as the substantial improvement in mobility and accessibility."

The project involves the comprehensive renewal of the asphalt road and the construction of new sidewalks, noting, among other improvements, the construction of a new roundabout at the junction of the current Lazareto to facilitate access to this site and the cemetery the locality.
The work will be finished late next month and will have a final cost of 300,000 euros, of which 265,000 are provided by the Presidential and 35,000 by the city of La Union.
