The Mayor of La Union and President of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas, Francisco Bernabé, and the Minister of Culture, Pedro Alberto Cruz, have released the list of winners of the Cultural Call of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas de The Union to be held between 3 and 14 August.
HM King Juan Carlos, President of Honour of the event in its Golden Jubilee, will be one of the winners with the delivery of the gold medal commemorating the event, a distinction that has the unique and extraordinary character to be the first time that is granted.
Francisco Bernabé stressed "the special character of the Cultural Call has been conceived as a tribute to the greatest personalities that exist in various cultural settings around the world of Flamenco."
The Mayor of La Union and Chairman of the Festival wanted to emphasize "the path of all the winners, starting with King Juan Carlos I has privileged us to accept the honorary presidency of the Festival on its fiftieth anniversary."
Barnabas has become referred to the next show "as the greatest flamenco show ever made," to end concluded that "without doubt, be the Festival of Festivals."
Among the other winners include individuals and institutions that have meaning for their work on behalf of flamenco and the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía, filmmaker Carlos Saura, journalist Jesús Quintero, designers Victorio and Lucchino or Ballet Spain National.
During the event, have also been unveiled important aspects of singing competitions, dance, guitar and flamenco instruments to be played between 10 and 14 August, the date on which the Cathedral of Cante host the Grand Final.
The registration period for the singing contest, dance and guitar opens February 4 and ending on March 31, while for the second edition of Flamenco Instrumentalist Competition, the deadline will be open until 15 June.

The amount of the prize is 100,000 euros, distributed among the different competitions as follows: Sing (63,500 euros), Guitar (10,000 euros), Dance (16,000 euros); Instrumentalist Flamenco (10,500 euros).
Then, the ratio of winners of the Cultural Call:
* Gold Medal commemorating the 50th Anniversary: His Majesty King Don Juan Carlos I.
* Special Prize of Character Institution: Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía (in the person of its owner, Rosa Torres).
* Special Award of Special Character, ex aequo: Festival Flamenco de Cordoba, Seville Flamenco Biennial, Festival Flamenco de Jerez, Festival de Música y Danza de Granada (Spain's major flamenco festivals.)
* Special Award for the Performing Arts, National Ballet of Spain (in the person of its director, dancer and choreographer José Antonio).
* Special Award for the Arts Film: Carlos Saura (film director).
* Special Award for Media Arts: Jesus Quintero (journalist).
* Special Award for the Arts Stylistic: Victorio & Lucchino (fashion designers).
* Special Award for Literary Arts: José Manuel Caballero Bonald (poet).
* Special Prize for Plastic Arts: Museo Chillida
* Special Award for Culinary Arts: The Cruet (restaurant centennial).
