The swamp and dry-Paid Mina, located at the beginning of Road 33 and the closest of its kind in the urban, is being rehabilitated from the environmental point of view and in order to be included in the itinerary of the new Mining Park of La Union.
The project involves the weeding and cleaning of the platform of the raft, replanting it with native species (Sabina mora, juniper, pine, wild olive, tamarisk, rosemary, black hawthorn, etc..), Construction of pathways and roads, placement of benches and interpretive panels, and the protection of the slopes with wooden rails.
With this new action will be eight and mineral deposits from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century that will make up the Mining Park of the Sierra de La Union, which opened to the public is scheduled for June.
The Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, stressed the dual accomplishment representing this action, because it recovers an important mining heritage to its value and cultural tourism, and environmentally pair regenerates an area very close to the heart of La Union, capable of cause air pollution due to suspended soil that may imply the swamp where winds blow sources.
The work has a total budget of 90,000 euros and is executed on behalf of the Directorate General of Natural Heritage and Biodiversity of the Autonomous Region of Murcia.
