The Municipal Socialist Group in the municipality of La Union has filed a motion requesting, inter alia, targeted by the amount of remuneration, allowances and allowances to members of the municipal corporation, and contributions for municipal groups of February for solidarity aid to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
Socialist spokesman Mariano Oliver, the City urges that enable municipal budgets in 2010, a game which represents 0.7% of the budget for social spending to help send solidarity to the people of Haiti.
Oliver wants from the municipality of La Union to appeal to all local citizens to work together through various NGOs.
To do this, it would enable a relationship of these entities, with the account number to channel aid to alleviate the devastating effects of the recent earthquake in that country.
Haiti is the poorest country in the Americas and one of the poorest in the world so that the situation is extreme.
More than 100,000 people have been killed and thousands of serious injuries as a result of the earthquake that has left much of its population homeless.
Oliver argues in the motion that the Union is a city that has always shown solidarity, and in a situation like this should do it again one more time.
"The unionenses known as no pain and suffering caused by the bowels of the earth.
The help, support and solidarity of all is essential to overcome, as far as humanly possible, this tragedy, "he said.
The PSOE de La Union believe that the only way for Haiti to recover someday be found in international collaboration, especially the more developed countries.
To do this, Mariano Oliver concludes, "is a swift intervention from governments and institutions around the world as it is by the Government of Spain, which is sending aid and coordinate the dispatch of rescue teams, medicines and medical and technical staff to work as quickly as possible. "
