El Palacio de San Esteban in Murcia, the regional government headquarters, has hosted a meeting between the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and our Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, who has come together with the Councillor for Culture, Julio Garcia.
During the meeting, one more round in regular contacts that normally keep Valcárcel and Barnabas, by our representatives has been submitted to the President of the Regional program of commemorative events to be held this year in La Union the 150th anniversary of the establishment of the municipality and 50 anniversary of the International Festival of Cante de las Minas, which both have the honorary chairmanship of His Majesty King Don Juan Carlos I.
The President has shown Valcárcel excited about the high level of quality of programming provided and, at the invitation of our first mayor, has agreed to go on four occasions this year to La Union, at a rate of one per quarter, to participate actively in the various events that will take place.
Specifically, the first visit will take place in March in order to hold several meetings with representatives of society unionense and launch a series of important works, as the new headquarters of the local police, the new building of the Youth Space and the works of semipeatonalización the city center.
The second will occur in June to conduct the opening of the Mining Park of La Union.
The third time will be in August during the celebration of the fiftieth edition of the Festival Internacional del Cante de Las Minas.
And the last time, and in November, to close at a ceremony institutional events celebrating the 150th anniversary of La Union.
