The Ministry of Public Works and Planning rehabilitate the building of the former slaughterhouse in La Union, which will become the headquarters of Social Services under the program for the rehabilitation of buildings for public use of the Directorate General of Land and Housing Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The performance, at a cost of over € 300,000 will be financed equally by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning and the City.
The Director General of Planning and Housing, Antonio Navarro, said the "rehabilitation of this building for use as a public building will allow residents of La Union to have a citizen service center itself, after the dissolution of the Commonwealth of Social Services Southeast, so it is a public interest action will result in the welfare of over 17,000 inhabitants of the municipality. "

The former abattoir building occupies an entire city block and consists of different buildings, almost entirely of a plant with a small body in two heights.
Access to property is through a lobby that connects the two main buildings, 90 square meters each, and with other units, organized around a courtyard.
The proposed intervention includes the complete rehabilitation of the building, which will include new wall and floor tiles.
Also be carried out to improve existing facilities and equip the building of new facilities commensurate with its new use as a venue for social services in the municipality.
The action also includes the addition of an elevator to comply with accessibility standards and ensure full integration of persons with disabilities.
