The building of the former slaughterhouse will be completely renovated to house the new headquarters of the Department of Social Services City of La Union.
That was the resolution adopted by the Local Government Board to approve the specification that will govern the bid by public tender of such works.
The new facility will have more than 400 square meters on two floors, serving the public.
It is envisaged that they carry out their work in the eleven employees assigned to social services, reserving space for future installation also in the building of CAVI, designed to assist victims of gender violence in the family.
The works cost a total of 302,000 euros and the execution time is eight months from the start, so that completion is expected around the second half of 2010.
The mayor, Francisco Bernabé, has highlighted the important qualitative leap that will experience the municipal social services over the next year as new plants are going to add four new employees who belong to our City from the recently dissolved Commonwealth Social Services Southeast, so that the staff of this Department is going to happen seven to eleven workers starting next January 1, allowing to provide better care to all who require unionenses.
