The municipality of La Union has been the site of a day of coexistence between Occupational Centers for the Care of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities in the towns of Fortuna, Alhama, Totana, Mazarron and La Union, who acted as host through Andrés Martínez Cánovas Foundation.
At the conference attended by more than 150 people, including users of the different sites and their monitors, having run the organization on behalf of Alternative and Disability Association and funded by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Migration in the Region of Murcia.
Throughout the day have visited the House of Pinon, which have been received by the Team, the Old Public Market and the Mining Museum.
Participants also enjoyed a series of activities, games and recreational sports facilities Villa Mayor.
Andrés Martínez Cánovas Foundation currently serves a total of 43 users of La Union and neighboring towns affected by physical and mental disabilities, is a center of municipal ownership, although there are plans to transfer to Social Services Autonomous Region with effect from January 1, 2010, in order to increase and enhance the quality and quantity of services currently provided.
