The Director General of Tourism, Marina García Vidal, opened today, along with the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabe, the new tourism office in the municipality, for which the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has invested between 2008 and 2009, total of EUR 56,753.60, in respect of property, equipment and signage.
García Vidal recalled that this privileged location of the new office, located in the Casa del Pinon, in the heart of the town, "will mean more convenience for tourists and visitors, replacing the old units that were located inside Old Public Market. "
He stressed that "the implementation of these facilities will allow the city to properly receive the tourists attracted, from 2010, for the opening of the Mina Vicenta and Environment Groups of 33."
He further stated that steps have been initiated so that soon, the office can get the Q for Tourist Quality, "becoming a regional reference.
The place has an area of 70 square meters and provides, inter alia, waiting area, equipped with TV screens, customer service area with 5 jobs and a vast information infrastructure of the tourism possibilities of the Union and Region of Murcia.
Regarding the decor, features a large photograph of 15 square meters, the existing lake inside the mine Groups Vicenta.
The new tourism office is included in the 'Red tourism offices in the Region', operational since 2002, and aims to unify information and image of the offices throughout the region through various measures such as, inter alia, information management according to ISO 9001:2000 quality system, the maintenance of a regional tourist information updated and incorporate the brand 'Murcia Tourist' in all offices.
