In this morning held a meeting in Murcia, La Union Mayor Francisco Barnabas, and the Councillor of Finance, María Dolores Barrett, the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, Salvador Marín, in order to treat on the future of Open Mall of La Union.
The performance has been divided into two phases: the first, currently underway, involving the semipeatonalización and new street furniture in the center of town, valued at 940,000 euros, and a second, currently in draft form, consisting of the reform and improvement Main Street and the Plaza Joaquín Costa, whose cost amounts to 1,500,000 euros.
Councilor Marin has voiced support for the initiative, which will be financed by his Ministry, as well as the Presidency and the Ministries of Public Works and Planning.
The project also involved the City of La Union, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation of Cartagena and the Federation of Business and Professional Associations of the Union.
The Mayor expressed his satisfaction with the performance because you get a triple benefit for unionenses, involving the removal of architectural barriers, the main notable aesthetic improvement of urban space in La Union and the empowerment of business in our town.
The deadline for execution of works is five months and is planned to carry out its bid in early 2010.
