The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, proclaimed the patron saint of La Union, held in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary.
During his speech as a preacher, said the geography and landscape of the city, citing writers like Andrew Cegarra, Jorge Guillén and Federico García Lorca.
He also recalled the origins of La Union mining and highlighted its role in Roman Empire, the Goths and the Arabs, and recounted his progression through the historical events leading up to the time of its independence.
