"Translation and cultural mediation: the translator / interpreter in the public and private sector" is the title of the Course of the International University of the Sea to be held in the municipality of La Union during the week of 20 to 24 July.
The growth of immigration in the Region of Murcia has created a new social landscape with new requirements, making the view of those responsible for the course "is necessary to encourage the creation of new professional figures, such as the translator / interpreter public services to be performed by experts. "
The course aims to give opportunity to those interested in this topic to acquire academic and professional guidance necessary to exercise the profession of translator / interpreter.
Teachers of various Departments of Philology and Translation and Interpretation at the University of Murcia, as well as translators and interpreters, will attempt to acquaint students with the basics of working as a translator and employment status in the professional market, familiar with the problems which will face and make them aware of basic cultural mediation tools to solve them.
The course, led by Professor of the University of Murcia Ana Maria Rojo Lopez, has a duration of thirty hours, and the students that courses will be entitled to three free credits.
