The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, and Social Policy Adviser, Women and Migration, Joaquín Bascuñana, attended the ceremony of laying the foundation stone of Day Care Centre for older people of La Union.
This new infrastructure will provide health and social care to forty older people affected by different degrees of dependence.
The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, stressed that the "construction of Day Care Center for seniors is a top priority action for the municipal government team, since that will provide the best assistance and care to seniors."
To the Minister of Social Policy, Joaquín Bascuñana, "This new infrastructure is to complete the network of Day Care Centers in the region whose main goal is to assist and care for the elderly, while it encourages a respite care for environment of each of these people.
It is, in short, an alternative to residential property, while maintaining the level of care that these people require. "
The center is located between the streets and Del Pozo Del Salto unionense municipality an area of over 330 square meters with three floors of building in which different services are distributed.
On the ground floor there is access and building control, changing users, living room, dining room and kitchen and treatment room nursing and related to geriatric bath.
Meanwhile, on the first floor of the building, will house the administration area with two management offices and a boardroom, the area of general medicine and physiotherapy, next to the multipurpose room spa, and office area nursing staff changing rooms and multipurpose room and workshops.
The roof of the building is an area for domestic use with a promenade and recreation.
The estimated time for completion of the construction of Day Care Centre for older people of La Union is twelve months.
The project has a total cost of 883,916 euros.
The Regional Government through the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration will contribute a total of 662,937 euros.
