López Baños (1957-2008) was general secretary of the General Union of Workers in the Region of Murcia since June 2002, after which he was reelected in October 2005 and previously for eight years had been secretary general of the Federation Public services union in Murcia.
During his tenure as general secretary of UGT in the Region, encouraged the active participation of the union in various strategic plans for the development of the Region of Murcia.
In this regard, during the years he held the secretary of UGT in the region were agreed plans as transcendent as I and II Stability Pact for Employment of the Region of Murcia or plans for Occupational Health and Safety, etc. .
