A total of 35 exhibitors participating in the XIII Fair of Minerals and Fossils of the Union today opened the General Director of Trade and Crafts, Julio José Lorenzo, and the local mayor, Francisco Bernabé.
The exhibition, organized by the Federation of Business and Professional Union in collaboration with the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, City Hall and the Chamber of Commerce of Cartagena, will be open until next Saturday, 10: 00 to 14:00 and 17:00 to 21:00 in the former Public Market.
The fair, dedicated to the exhibition and sale of minerals and fossils, with parts of the Sierra Minera, as well as other areas of Spain and various parts of Europe.
The 35 exhibitors come from La Union and Cartagena, as well as Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Alicante, Navarra, Galicia and Almeria.
The exhibition, which occupies 1,500 square meters, represents a major boost to engine shops and catering establishments in the municipality.
Is expected to exceed the 8,000 visitors who attended the previous edition.
Tribute to the older mining of La Union
The fair, in addition to the exhibition and sale of minerals and fossils, with other acts, as a tribute to the older mining of La Union that has taken place after the inauguration.
This year's honoree is José Alcaraz Rojo, 80, who worked 42 years in the laundry Regent.
Also, on Saturday 11, at 19:00, is hosting the awards ceremony to stand best decorated, best saw ore mineral at the best exposed, and a mineral will be raffled among the visitors.
The support of the Ministry to the fair is part of the Plan to Enhance the Retail Distribution Sector of the Region of Murcia 2008-2010, which includes 59 measures to modernize and equip microeconomic productivity and competitiveness of the sector.
