Sunday Alajarín, representing the City Cultural Association Union has given the Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, collecting money boxes decorated by artistic paintings by local artists, regional and national, which were sponsored by the Cultural City The Union, in the early 90's, to raise funds to support Easter.
These piggy banks become part of municipal assets.
The collection of piggy banks was sponsored by the Cultural City of Union, and displayed in the lobby of City Hall of La Union.
The inauguration will take place on April 4, from 19:30.
It may be recalled that earlier that day, the President of the Autonomous Community, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, read the proclamation of Easter Union during the Eucharist at 20:00 pm in the parish of Our Lady of the Rosary of the town.
The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, expressed his satisfaction that "the inclusion of the tins in the artistic and cultural heritage of the city is fantastic news."
Barnabas thanked "the magnificent gesture by the Cultural City of La Union to make this donation."
The piggy banks were exposed, in the 90's, in commercial establishments in the city so that residents could help financially with the upkeep of Holy Week through their contributions.
The exhibition will feature works by Asensio Sáez, Francisco Hernández Cop and Esteban Bernal, among others, and can be visited during the month of April, weekdays from 9:00 to 14:00 hours.
