The Mayor of La Unión, Bernabe Francisco and the team of municipal government, have awarded the prizes for the XI Traditional Cooking Contest at a ceremony in the Old Public Market.

There has been an outstanding participation from both local and from women's associations in the District of Cartagena.

The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, has praised "the excellent cooking skills of all participants", while the Women Councillor Mary Hermogenes, thanked "the attendance at this annual gathering with traditional cooking," while inviting everyone to stay involved in other activities planned to celebrate the International Day of Working Women.

Have given the following prizes:

3 starter Awards

First prize: "Rice pavement" of Esperanza Sanchez.

Second prize: "Sharks filled" Angelita Benzal.

Award presentation: "Pot News" Saving Thomas.

3 Awards for the second course

First prize: "Salad" by Amanda Galiana.

Second prize: "Seabass" Maria Hernandez

Presentation: "Salad" by Amanda Galiana.

3 Awards Dessert

First prize: "Happy Cake" Mary Solano.

Second prize: "Pan de Calatrava" by José Luis Quereda.

Presentation: "Toast merengue de Francisco Martin.

Invited Associations Awards

Main course

First prize: "Spaghetti with clams" Cati Díaz.

Second prize: "Pig's trotters scented" Lola Albaladejo.

Desserts

First prize: "Bavarois dates" Josefa Martínez.

Second prize: "Bavarois of strawberries" Lola Albaladejo.

The jury is composed of leading hospitality professionals at a regional level.

The Cooking Contest XI is organized by the Association of Amas de Casa de La Union under the aegis of the Department of Women of the City Council of La Union.
