The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Barnabas, and the Town Planning and Infrastructure, Carlos Martinez, accompanied by the Director of Employment Workshop "Empleunion", José Antonio Martínez Fornet, visited the rehabilitation works of the barracks of the Guardia Civil of La Union.
The rehabilitation works of the barracks are being conducted by 8 students of the Workshop on Employment "Empleunión", who receive training in masonry, while working in that rehabilitation.
The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, has expressed his satisfaction at "the beginning of a long-awaited works by the professionals who form the Guardia Civil Union."
Barnabas said that "the completion of the rehabilitation of the barracks" will allow the Meritorious keep in the Union "the facilities they deserve."
Finally, the Mayor thanked the Civil Guard of the Union "impeccable service to all citizens of the town."
The total cost of the rehabilitation project of the barracks stands at over € 205,791.
The rehabilitation of the barracks is a historical claim to the Civil Guard in the mining town, who had to suffer the suspension of the works for nearly a decade.
La Guardia Civil de La Union has a staff of 19 personnel, in addition to the post commander.
