The Governing Council has authorized spending and the conclusion of the contract for the second phase of the project to regenerate the district of San Gil de La Union, which includes the refurbishment of 48 homes and a clubhouse, with a budget of EUR 1,499,975 .
This is a project developed by the Housing and Land Institute of the Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, which also involved the City of La Union Foundation and Sierra Minera.
Includes the demolition of the elements that remain in the original building in ruins, sanitation facilities and the restructuring of housing space and equipment.
The structure and repair fences will be purified and improving insulation and livability.
In this second phase, the packaging was made in 48 homes and a clubhouse located at number four in the square of the Minas Cante neighborhood of San Gil.
The action is being performed on a group of social housing built in 1980 by the then National Housing Institute within the national program to eradicate slums.
The complete set consists of 152 housing over 4 blocks on three levels around a large interior space.
The total project is budgeted at 3 million euros, of which we have already invested EUR 891,641 in the first phase (with proceedings for the eviction of furniture, cleaning, disinfecting and cloisonné, demolition, repair and rehabilitation of local as well as 12 homes whose works are nearing completion) and for the second stage and 1,499,975 euros have been budgeted to rehabilitate another 48 dwellings.
Fundación Sierra Minera, which has been assigned premises in the same blocks that are being rehabilitated, is doing in the neighborhood social reintegration work with families in various areas: children, women and family, community and youth .
Are programs to develop the educational processes of children, youth and adults to promote the employability of unemployed youth, to involve the population in the rehabilitation and maintenance of housing, to promote alternative leisure time occupation, and improve health conditions of the population.
