The City of La Union, through its Department of Education and Culture celebrates Children's Day with a program of activities for the 20 and 21 November.
The Universal Day of the Rights of the Child is celebrated on November 20, when the UN General Assembly approved the final text of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The events begin on the 20th in the Hall of City Hall with a reading articles from the text approved by the UN, by students of different schools in the municipality, to follow at 12:30 pm with the awards ceremony for the drawing competition, ending at 12:45 with a talk on "The role of parents in bullying".
Furthermore, on Saturday 21, from 11 am, in the Plaza Joaquín Costa, there will be a party for all children, with theater, crafts and games.
"We still have a long way to go to raise public awareness of the importance of having a good childhood to become a good adult" - tells us the Councillor for Education and Culture, Carmen Riquelme.
