The competition organized by the Illustrious Brotherhood of the Holy Christ of the Miners, the Foundation Cante de las Minas Excellency and the City of La Union, considered one of the most prestigious of those held nationally, reaches its twenty-fourth edition.
Five finalists are selected on this occasion, Isabel Guerrero, Fuengirola (Málaga);
Lucia Leiva, Montoro (Córdoba);
Rocío Belén Cuesta "The Xiry" Almonte (Huelva);
Pepi Blankets, Villa del Río (Córdoba) and Victor Palacios, Barcelona.
Among all harbor a palm that over a hundred awards over major competitions on the national scene.
The finalists will have the opportunity to win the prestigious award called one of the most illustrious loopholes in the area, Isabel Diaz "The Levantine".
The winners of the first, second and third prize, endowed this year with the amount of 1,800, 1,000 and 800 euros respectively, arrows sing the Christ of the Miners to the passage of the Procession of Holy Thursday.
This year the jury will be composed of experts Francisco Paredes, flamenco expert, researcher and director of the contest;
Antonio Parra, a professor at the University of Murcia, writer and director of the Flamenco Summit of Murcia;
Onesimus Samuel Hernández, also a professor at the University of Murcia and specializes in Flemish director;
Enrique López Fuentes, flamencologist representative of several flamenco clubs;
and photographer specializing in Flemish Virginia Rosique.
Jury will act as Secretary Sonia Hernandez.
Easter in La Union is unique in the world for its mining symbolism, alluding to the past of the town.
How could it be otherwise, Saetas Contest immersed in that universe and the heartrending echoes of the archers do, if anything, more emotional memories of the recent past of the 'mining and Flemish town'.
