CHRISTOPHER GABARRÓN
FCG was born in 1945 in Mula (Murcia).
Perhaps his childhood marked by moving to Valladolid, where he acquired his first training trips to France and Italy, or their current work done between Spain and the United States have generated in him, an open-minded dialogue.
Far from aesthetic conventions of isthmuses or vanguards, which in one way or another, has taken any particular time, his work only understands life.
We can say that his vision of art is clearly anthropocentric, the individual, life, coexistence and development of human values, are pillars on which rests not only his art but also his personal convictions.
The mural for the Olympic Games in Barcelona 92 and the mural "Encounter 92" for the Universal Exposition of Seville (1992), the great sculpture project "Atlanta Star" (1996), performing the play "Hope for Peace" ( 1986) as the official poster for the summit or "Capilla del Milenio" (2000-2001), represent an important milestone in his career, while initiating a fruitful creative period, that day still remains marked by collaboration with international organizations such as the IOC or the United Nations.
In recent years he has also maintained its traditional links with other artistic disciplines, as evidenced by the recent creation of dosescenografías, one for the show "New Dawn" flamenco singer Jose Merce and the second for the show's Noche Latina!
of Edwaard Liang for the Washington Ballet, precisely in the same city where the American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center has exhibited some of his most recent works.
Critics and historians from the likes of Donald Kuspit, curator and professor at New York University, Kosme of Barañano, Professor of Fine Arts at the University Miguel Hernández, or Julian Zuga, Director of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art at Kansas City, have proceeded to careful analysis and studies of his career, collected in the abundant literature appeared in recent years.
It has also highlighted in its suescultura career públicacomo the series: "Las Torres de la Alhambra", "Don Quixote" and "The Silence of Columbus" sculptures that have been enjoyed by the public in emblematic places of the world from the Paseo del Prado of Madrid, Central Park and Broadway in New York and recently China Shanghai Art Museum, through the Volden Park Amsterdam in the international shows ARTZUID, Estoril, Gdansk in Poland or Hasselt and Alden Biesen in Belgium among others.
Eager to revert to society part of what it had given him, he has hosted since 1992 the gradual creation of three foundations in Valladolid, New York and Mula (Murcia), where his main desire is to return to society, through performing arts and cultural activities, creating awareness through the arts.
