The Governing Council of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, a proposal from the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities, has issued Resolution under which it agrees to declare the art of folk verse and trovera activities in the Region Murcia as a Cultural Intangible character.
The folk verse, also known as the art of repentización, is one of the most typical forms of cultural expression of the Union and the Campo de Cartagena, characterizing it by the ingenuity and the ability of its performers to improvise verses and rhymes following the rules of the metric.
The Festival del Cante de las Minas lives to the defense of trovo both organizing an evening trovera the first day of the contest, as the institutionalization of Trovero five years ago Marin Award, named in honor of the patriarch of this art, and that in each edition distinguishes the person or entity that has more meaning in the preservation and promotion of folk verse.
In addition, the Literary Café Tertulia Mesa, in collaboration with the City of La Union and Foundation Cante de las Minas, launched three years ago Trovo School of La Union, the third class of students is at present pursuing their teachings.
Our Mayor, Julio Garcia, has welcomed the decision of the Regional Government, because through it has been given the highest possible institutional and cultural recognition to folk verse, besides giving it the maximum degree of legal protection.
