After its successful steps by Brussels and Tokyo, Las Minas Flamenco Tour (LMFT) returns to travel abroad in 2014 to publicize the best flamenco, this time India being the Asian nation for the second consecutive year hosting the event.
This was announced this morning in Madrid at the press conference that was held at the Cervantes Institute in the capital of Spain and who have attended the Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of India in Spain, Maitrey Kulkarni;
Director of Institutional Relations Brand Spain, Ignacio García-Valdecasas;
the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Faculty of Physical Activity and Sports Sciences from the Catholic University San Antonio of Murcia, Juan Alfonso García;
Mayor and CEO of the Foundation Cante de Las Minas, Francisco Bernabé;
and the Secretary General of the Instituto Cervantes, Rafael Rodriguez-Ponga.
The initiative has been promoted by the Ambassador of Spain in India, Gustavo de Arístegui, in order to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Cervantes Institute in New Delhi, has the support of the Catholic University San Antonio of Murcia (UCAM), institution which also form part of the expedition in order to close partnerships with the leading universities of this great Asian nation.
The artistic cast will consist of a group of seven professionals that highlights the presence of three winners of the Festival Internacional del Cante de las Minas, the dancers Fuensanta Fresneda "La Moneta" and Eduardo Guerrero and Oscar instrumentalist Manuel, who will be accompanied by a magnificent painting made by the singers Guillermo Campos "Morenito Illora" and Juan Manzano "El Coco," and guitarist Luis Mariano and Fran Turner.
They carried out the interpretation of the show "Suite Flamenca" in which no shortage of hammers, seguirillas, reeds, thongs and bulerías.
The performances will take place on November 11 in New Delhi, in the gardens of the Residence of the Embassy of Spain in India and on 14 November in Mumbai, in the Auditorium of the National Centre for the Performing Arts.
For both events is already confirmed the presence of the major political, social, cultural and economic representatives of Indian society and the diplomatic corps.
Our Mayor and CEO of the Foundation Cante de las Minas, Francisco Bernabé, wanted to highlight the importance of building a great power like India as one of the permanent locations of Las Minas Flamenco Tour, which will certainly further enhance an image very positive from Spain, Murcia and La Union in the Asian giant.
