The Foundation Cante de las Minas and the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) have signed this morning under the agreement which created the International Chair Flamencología they will jointly develop two institutions.
The Convention, which was signed by the President of the UCAM, Jose Luis Mendoza, and our Mayor and Executive Chairman of the Mimas Sing Foundation, Francisco Bernabé, Statutory and university gives to the training and promotion around the world of flamenco that have been developed by the Cante de las Minas over recent years.
In front of the chair, and director of it, is the vast Estrella Morente undoubtedly one of the indisputable reference flamenco today, which stood at the top of your ladder for outstanding artistic merits.
Star has always maintained a close relationship with the Festival del Cante de las Minas, like his father, Enrique Morente missed being his visits to La Union constant over recent times to always show the best of her singing .
Moreover, as explained Mendoza and Barnabas, the International Chair Flamencología part and an extensive program of activities which will develop over the coming months, and that includes the following initiatives:
Flamenco Art School: with regulated training courses in the areas of singing, dancing, guitar and percussion.
University Conferences: directed research and learning everything about flamenco culture and specialized training in the techniques of Spanish dance and flamenco dancing.
Gastronomic: in order to deepen the link between gastronomy and flamenco through the fusion of the same is done in the days culinary del Cante de las Minas and the meeting of haute cuisine by levante.
Thus, these activities, along with any others that may be developed in the future, will allow the development of academic activities, training and research in the fields of performing arts, tourism and gastronomy, always in close connection with Flemish side, making it easier for students participating in the same corresponding university degree attesting to the completion of the same.
The Chair will develop its activities both in the Union and in Murcia, in order to facilitate maximum attendance of stakeholders to their various initiatives.
The first one has already announced this morning, to be open enrollment period in the courses of singing, dancing, guitar and percussion Flamenco Art School from 20th November morning.
The same will close on December 20.
Registered students will begin classes next January after the Christmas holidays.
