The Governing Board of the Hon.
City of La Union has approved the project for the rehabilitation of a building for the Cante de las Minas and which is scheduled to host a cafe singer and the permanent home of Flamenco Art School.
The performance will be developed on the property known as the Graduate School, dating from 1903 and is a genuine example of the typical architecture of the early unionense S.
XX, which at that time was home to many cafes singers of the songs that emerged in our local miners.
The complex covers an area of ​​600 m² and expense of a large central courtyard and two buildings, one of which is to be retrieved for classroom training of Flamenco Art School and the other is being spent on play fairly typical cafe singer in the flamenco performances that will be developed on an ongoing basis throughout the year.
The project, which was drafted by the municipal technical services whatever with a total budget of € 342,122 including VAT.
It is expected that the work should commence during the current year in order that it can be opened in 2013.
