A technical score of Tourism in the Region of Murcia today visited the offices of the City of La Union and some of the most emblematic places of the municipality through an initiative of "familiarity" that has enabled these specialists to learn first-hand historical heritage and local culture and its growing potential for tourism.
Young technicians who came from all corners of the regional territory, as Cieza, Calasparra, Torre Pacheco, Mula, San Javier and Fortune, among others, have been received at the City Hall by the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé and by the Councillor for Tourism, Antonio Liard, and coach of Tourism of La Union, Borja Garcia.
During his visit, the group has toured the Museo del Cante de las Minas, with his recent guests, the bust of the singer Pencho Cros and the certificate of UNESCO Cultural Heritage appoints Universal flamenco, and the interiors of City Hall, both located in the building 'Casa Pinion', before going to the Old Public Market and the popular Parque Minero de La Union.
With a total of 50,000 square meters, the Mining Park of La Union is a pioneering activity in the recovery of historical heritage to its value as an attractive tourist and cultural nature, because it involves the recovery of a total of eight old fields nineteenth-century miners that will see "in situ" as they lived and worked for former miners of the Sierra de Cartagena - La Unión.
Its star attraction is the mine "Group Vicenta" (1869), which offers more than 4,000 m² open to the public and more than eighty feet deep, making it one of the largest mines visited in Europe, at the same time one of the most impressive and unique in its vaults for more than eight feet high, its enormous galleries, special columns and its underground lake red water due to the pyrite.
