The Minister of Universities and Research Company, Salvador Marín, accompanied by the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, today placed the first stone for the urban upgrading of the business environment of the Plaza Joaquín Costa the municipality, which will facilitate access to establishments are located in the center of town.

These actions of urban commercial development starting today, aimed at promoting the dynamism, innovation and sustainability of local retail and have an investment by the Commonwealth of more than 229,000 euros.

Marin said, "This renovation is aimed at promoting the reactivation of the main commercial area of ​​La Union, as well as add value to the local shops and emphasize its image of quality and professionalism of retail, in order to increase competitiveness and stimulate sales, in line with the regional government to make urban centers incentive instruments of trade and social cohesion. "

Specifically, 200,000 euros will be allocated to the beautification of the business environment of the square, including the modernization of existing street furniture, paving and improvement of sidewalks to facilitate access, installation of planters and the burial of the waste containers.

In addition, 29,768 euros will be invested in improving the lighting in this area, to facilitate accessibility to the commercial center of town.

This initiative of the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through the Directorate General of Commerce and Handicrafts, in collaboration with the Municipality of La Union, is framed in the Plan to Promote Retail, whose aims are to improve performance commercial urban planning, implementing new technologies in small businesses and the promotion of training.

Meeting with businessmen

After the laying of the cornerstone of these works of commercial planning, the counselor and the mayor held two meetings of working with the Federation of Business and Professional Union, and entrepreneurs of the Industrial 'What Bolarín' .
