Local Police Union has today a new vehicle that will improve surveillance efforts and service in the municipality.
The Minister of Justice and Public Safety, Manuel Campos, tourism delivered this morning at the town's mayor, Francisco Bernabé.
Campos said that the acquisition "will help improve the service of Local Police in the municipality of La Union and increase citizens' security in the region."
The fleet of Local Police Union thus has a total of six cars, which must be added two motorcycles, a van for the maintenance of traffic and one for the Canine Unit.
To purchase this vehicle, the Ministry of Justice and Public Safety has awarded a grant of 21,500 euros, framed in budgetary allocations to improve the empowerment of local police in the Region of Murcia.
Councilor Manuel Campos said "the effort and commitment of the regional government with the needs of the local police bodies to have a highly trained and have the best means to provide a quality service to citizens."
The Minister of Justice and Public Safety Executive said the Murcia "will continue its effort to provide the best equipment to local police forces in the region so that they can provide quick and effective response to any emergency situation."
New Headquarters
Moreover, Campos visited the new headquarters of Local Police Union, which has 600 square meters of offices, meeting rooms, training room, locker rooms and gym.
The autonomous region allocated an investment of 182,928 euros for the construction of police facilities and acquisition of equipment for the headquarters.
The new headquarters is located in the building of El Progreso, old town hall, and made a significant improvement in working conditions of the 34 officers now make up the staff of the local police.
Finally, the Minister of Justice and Public Safety moved to the premises of the Magistrate's Court, consisting of five offices, a file, a customer service room and a courtroom.
Through the Regional Public Safety Plan, the regional government has invested over the past four years almost 900,000 euros in the town of La Union, an amount that has been designed to enhance personal and material resources the body of the local police of the municipality.
