The extension works for the Health Center of La Union have resumed, after 2010 the Health Service of Murcia (SMS) was seen in the need to terminate the employment of the previous contractor due to their economic problems.
The announcement was the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, who last October met with the Minister of Health of the Region of Murcia, María Ángeles Palacios, to address this issue, which led to counseling to tender the works expansion and make a new allocation process that were presented 52 companies.
After studying business deals by the technicians of SMS, only one of them has received the award of works worth 2.2 million euros, plus the works already completed in that Health Center, increasing the total project investment to 3.5 billion euros.
This project includes the refurbishment of the old Health Center of La Union and the construction of a new annex building with two floors that will duplicate the services of patient care, and will also have a dental and other X-ray
The new building is scheduled for completion this spring, at which time all services will move from the old building to it, then proceeding to reform the existing center and unite with new construction.
Thus, the net effect of the work will be creating new and modern facilities that will double the work surface and to the public with which it has received to date in the municipality.
