More than 100 students make, starting today, the first class of the School of Flamenco Cante de las Minas, a center that just opened its doors in the town of La Union and hopes to soon be a national reference in the formal education in singing, dancing, flamenco guitar and percussion.
All of them have gathered today at City Hall, where there has been an official welcome by the mayor and president of the Foundation Executive Committee Cante de las Minas, Francisco Bernabé, the director general for the Promotion of Culture and Book Francisco Giménez, the director of the School of Flamenco, Carlos Piñana, and Councilman unionense Culture, Julio Garcia.
A total of 117 pupils from the autonomous communities of Murcia, Alicante, Almeria and Granada who have monopolized the musical offerings of the School, this course will have 51 disciples in the discipline of dance, 32 on guitar, 26 in singing, and 8 in flamenco percussion.
They are fans and started in the world of flamenco mass whose arrival to this center has exceeded all expectations and this has necessitated the addition of three new teachers, such as Navarro and Beatriz Arce Mamen, a dance teacher at the Conservatory Murcia, Cartagena and singer Sebastian Contreras 'Bastian'.

During the event, which has filled the Plenary Hall of the Consistory and the teachers who attended the various specialties, we proceeded to the distribution of the groups and the first orientation of the students by their teachers before the start classes on Saturday.
OBJECTIVES OF THE SCHOOL OF FLAMENCO ARTS
Flamenco Art School, through the Cante de las Minas Foundation, is aimed at those interested in moving closer to flamenco from an initial level through their regular academic courses, as well as those seeking to increase their background knowledge, goal be articulated through special courses of specialization.
Regular academic courses, which will be held continuously every Saturday morning and afternoon sessions, develop a curriculum that have been approved and supervised by the Official Conservatory of Murcia, so that graduates can choose where, if they so wish, to stand for the official examinations for access to these centers.
The faculty is made up of renowned figures in flamenco, as Encarnación Fernández and Antonio Ayala 'El Rampa', which is responsible for the course "Cante Flamenco" Antonio Muñoz, Rosendo Fernandez and Jose Francisco Ortega for the course "Guitarra Flamenca" Clotilde Corvi for "Flamenco Dance" and Miguel Angel Orengo, who will teach "Cajón Flamenco."
As for the extra courses of specialization, which may count as elective credits for validation configuration in the university, they will be given one-off basis and will count with teaching professionals and artists of recognized prestige in flamenco.
School students will enjoy activities such as auditions, exchanges, attendance at various shows flamingos called 'master class' in class 'Enrique Morente,' so named in honor of the Golden Castillete winner in the latest edition International Festival of Cante de las Minas.
The lessons will be based in the Youth Space in La Union, but also taught sessions at the Cultural Center Asensio Sáez and in the Old Public Market, home of the Festival del Cante de las Minas.
