The renovation works of the Mediterranean Avenue of The Union, which is opposite to the townships of Minera Sierra and Santa Barbara, is progressing well and are prepared to reach their final stage, as they have already begun to reach the palm trees that will serve to beautify the median divider of this infrastructure.
These works, ranging from the round of the Red Cross, one of the entrances to the municipality, to Santa Barbara, are consisting of the renovation and construction of new sidewalks and a central median with artificial turf and ornamental vegetation, and correction of the discrepancy between the Neighborhood Sierra Mining and Mediterranean Avenue itself.
The budget spent on this renovation, which is part of the Works and Services Plan Local 2010, is of 141,000 euros, financed from the regional government (85 percent) and the city of La Union (15 percent).
