The Government Delegate, Rafael González Tovar, and the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, today launched the latest work for the 'Plan E' that have been made and ending in the town throughout this year.
First visited the municipal section of the bike lane that will connect Union and Cartagena, a construction that extends two miles from the intersection of Race Irun and Murcia, opposite the Sports Centre, to the Place de La Esperanza, and which have been allocated € 150,000.
Then Gonzalez Tovar and Barnabas visited the works in the Municipal Sports Centre, which had led to the reform of the old pediment under the municipal coffers, reform and conversion of two tennis courts and a basketball in three tennis courts artificial turf, and the construction of two new paddle tennis courts with artificial turf and a glass enclosure.
Work on the sports center are part of a project whose total budget of 145,000 euros.
Finally, the government delegate and the mayor unionense have moved to the village of Portman, which proceeded to inaugurate the rehabilitation and improvement of the Social Center on Aging, an action that had an investment of 90,000 euros.
The building that houses the Community Center on Aging Portman occupies an area exceeding 171 m2, and consists of a lounge and meeting rooms, toilets, office, hairdressers, bar and store.
Also has a room designated for computer use and training.
Work undertaken has involved the repair of the roof to eliminate leaks of water, as well as rehabilitation of toilets, the upgrading of the office for more functionality, the renewal of the pavement, the new wiring in the building; and improving the canteen.
