Local Board of the City of the Union has agreed to tender the project for the renovation of the Plaza Joaquín Costa the municipality, a performance that will involve the complete renovation of the pavement and its extension to the very long stairs to the Old Public Market, among other reforms .
This work, which has a budget of 200,000 euros fully funded by the Directorate General for Trade of the CARM, will begin in early 2011 and will be part of the proceedings for renewal of the historical center of La Union, in order to enhance the activity commercial and tourist town.
This line shall consist of planting a poplar trees that will replace the affected palm red weevil, is built on top of the square a series of grids to collect rainwater and prevent it from running into the surface; posts are abolished and the existing overhead wires, to be buried, and will provide the space, new street furniture.
As explained by the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, "the cycle of renewal of the environment that encompasses the village will be completed next year when there is comprehensive rehabilitation of Main Street, one of the main roads of town."
