Local Board of the City of the Union has agreed to tender the project for the rehabilitation of the municipal building on Calle Salvador Pascual, 16, in order to transform it into the new Museum of the Holy Week and the headquarters of the Illustrious Confraternity of the Holy Cristo de los Mineros.
It is a building of 328 square meters with a very central and convenient location, as part of socio-cultural city, close to the Youth Space, the Municipal Library, the Justice of the Peace and the House of Pinon, which was declared a Cultural and today is the Town Hall.
The interior of this new socio-cultural space, which until recently occupied the local police and municipal social services, will be remodeled so that the ground floor are located the Museum and the headquarters of the Brotherhood, and the upper floor offices and units to the steps of the various groups processions.
Also, there should be reform of the building in its external appearance, to the extent that its main entrance will be moved to the square attached to it, which provides for the placement of a monument dedicated to the Easter Mining, helping to drive cultural-religious tradition of the municipality as well as to beautify the environment in which the property is located.
In this sense, the mayor of La Union, Francisco Barnabas, said that "at last Easter in The Union shall have the facilities they deserve, making a reference to regional level and giving a boost to our processions for desired statement as a Site of National Tourist Interest. "
It is expected that these works have a budget of 200,000 euros by 50% borne by the Directorate General for Architecture and Housing of the CARM, and the other 50% by the City Council, be completed early next year.
