The Department of Health and Consumption in the Region of Murcia has agreed to resume work for the expansion of Health Center of La Union before the end of 2010, after the Murcia Health Service (SMS) was seen in the need to terminate the employment of the previous contractor due to their economic problems.
This is what emerges from the meeting held recently between the Minister of Health of the Region of Murcia, María Ángeles Palacios, and the mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, after which it was announced that this counseling has become a tender the works to expand and made a new award process to which 52 companies have submitted.
SMS technicians are currently studying the bids submitted by companies and will soon be awarded to one of them works worth 2.2 million euros, a figure added to the works already carried out in the Health Center increases the total project investment to 3.5 billion euros.
The project, which is scheduled for 2011, includes the refurbishment of the old Health Center of La Union and the construction of a new annex building with two floors that will duplicate the services of patient care, and will also have a dentist, and other X-ray
