The mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, said today that the Regional Assembly President Francisco Celdran, and Assembly members will visit the Mining Park of this county in the coming weeks.
Barnabas made the announcement after meeting this morning with Celdran, who has given a lithograph with the reproduction of the poster for the 50th International Festival of Cante de las Minas, held by Martin Chirino, as a token of appreciation for the continued support the Assembly has given to the initiatives, mostly cultural, from La Union.
During the meeting, the mayor unionense had invited the president, as well as all the members of the Assembly, to visit the Mining Park of La Union in the coming weeks, an initiative which has agreed Celdrán Francisco, ensuring presence and that of the three political parties represented in parliament, PP, PSOE and IU.
Also, Francisco Francisco Bernabé has informed Celdrán honorary appointment as Son of the Union, so that both leaders have agreed that this ceremony takes place in November on the occasion of the commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the municipality.
In this sense, Barnabas, which formalizes and unanimous agreement was reached on 29 July by the House of the Municipal Corporation of the City Council, praised the "commitment Celdrán Francisco with all the initiatives from the Union in the past 15 years, during which has held the position of second most important authority in the region. "
Celdrán Francisco Vidal is president of the Regional Assembly since 1995 and holds the most prominent political representation unionense exercised by a date.
The plenary recognized Celdrán as 'Favorite Son' for its "intimate connection to the land of his birth", and for working tirelessly on issues of interest to the Union.
