The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, and Councillors of Culture, Institutional Relations and Tourism, Julio Garcia, Juan Sanchez and Antonio Liarte respectively, visited Portman where they could check the equipment and safety measures in place in the coastal town.
Civil protection is at Portman rescue three posts (one on the beach in the ballast, and two in Bay beach).
It also has a jet ski and two zodiacs to rescue base in the port of the ballast.
One of the zodiac, six meters long, is equipped with water and trailer bed for transport.
Similarly, Civil Protection has a number of local medical supplies, clothing, etc.
Portman's beaches have half a dozen volunteers to handle the monitoring and rescue service.
Both the Mayor and Councillors of the municipal government team have witnessed a mock rescue on the beach of the ballast which has demonstrated the effectiveness of the activities of Civil Protection.
The Mayor, Francisco Bernabé, has congratulated the volunteers and leaders of Civil Protection for the work they do on the coast of Portman.
The Surveillance and Rescue Plan Beaches and Rescue at Sea in the Region of Murcia (COPLA PLAN), which goes in The Union about 30,000 euros, will end on September 15.
