The Mayor of La Union, Francisco Bernabé, inaugurated the course "Cartagena and La Union. Presence of cultures", belonging to the Summer University of San Antonio Catholic University (UCAM).
Together with Barnabas, the opening ceremony, held at the Auditorium of the City of La Union, has had the presence of the Vice Chancellor of University Extension of the Catholic University San Antonio, Antonio Alcaraz, and Course Directors, Esteban Aguirre Bernal and Ricardo Lafuente Terrer.
This course, organized by the Department of Humanities and Religious of the UCAM, offers a historical overview of Cartagena and La Union, as well as life and customs in La Union: mining, environmental disaster Portman, culture, etc.
The course is being held today and tomorrow in the morning and afternoon.
During these days, students will tour the Sierra Minera, which includes a visit to the spectacular Groups Vicenta mine as well go to Portman, mines the Matildas of El Llano El Beal, and the Parish of Our Lady of Dolores de La Union.
For tomorrow, is planning to undertake a tour of Cartagena in which students can learn about the Teatro Romano, and a boat trip that includes a visit to Fort Christmas.
The choices at the UCAM in the summer period covers a total of 34 activities, divided into different regional sites (Cartagena, Murcia and La Union, among others), national (Santiago de Compostela and Barcelona) and international (Peru and the United Kingdom .)
