The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed an investigation aimed at clarifying alleged scams, committed through an insurance brokerage in La Union, the result of which has been arrested a person as alleged perpetrator of continued crime fraud.
So far has identified fifty injured, although it is not ruled out that there are more cases.
The investigation began last January, when a citizen reported before the Guardia Civil an alleged fraud in the hiring of the insurance policy of his vehicle, through an insurance brokerage located in the municipality of La Union.
The alarm jumped when the injured party informed the insurance company of an incident, when he could know that the policy he had contracted was not in force, as the corresponding economic amount was not made effective.
Through this first victim, the investigators found that the insurance was contracted through a person, who had an office in the municipality, from where he managed the contracting of vehicle insurance policies, with different insurance companies of prestige .
The Civil Guard contacted these companies, which helped identify other alleged victims, which allowed the detection of about half a hundred clients who, through the brokerage of La Union, had contracted policies that were never discharged.
Apparently, the now detained had generated a portfolio of clients who offered to contract policies that generally charged in cash.
The client obtained the insurance contract, but the money did not reach the insurance companies so, after the corresponding period of courtesy, were discharged.
The injured parties, after paying the corresponding fee, maintained in the belief of being in possession of an insurance in force until, due to any necessity, by presenting parts by accident or by claiming other services guaranteed in the contract, they verified that their vehicle did not Had insurance in force.
Once the statements of the injured parties have been obtained and the necessary documentation has been collected, the Civil Guard has detained a 30-year-old Spanish male, neighbor of Murcia as alleged perpetrator of a continuing felony crime.
The detainee and the investigations have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Cartagena (Murcia).
