The Nautical Club Portman has celebrated the official ceremony of the presentation of the 25th anniversary of the Club in the City of La Union.
The event was attended by the Mayor of La Union, Pedro López;
The General Director of Transport of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Salvador García-Ayllón;
And, representing the City of Cartagena, the lieutenant mayor Francisco Calderón, among other authorities of the regional political panorama.
During the evening, which was also attended by the partners, sponsors and members of the Board of Directors of the Club, the activities to be held in 2017, framed on the 25th anniversary, were presented.
One of these activities will be the 1st Solidarity Route Portman-Caravaca de la Cruz on the occasion of the jubilee year.
Under the slogan "Save a life", a defibrillator will be donated to the sports area of ​​Portman.
Also will be held the 6th Solidary Triathlon "Bay of Portman" and the 2nd Mining Snipe Class Route.
The main event to be held will be the IX Silver Carbide Solidarity Regatta, which will feature the participation of more than 80 ships and 500 crew members.
This cruise class regatta, which has managed to raise 36,000 euros to date, has managed to position itself as one of the most important regional and national level.
This year, the proceeds will go to the Association of Rare Diseases of Genes.
In addition, another of the activities that took place on the occasion of the 25th anniversary has been the First Photographic Contest "Escenas Litoral Bahía de Portmán", which has had the participation of numerous photographers from the Region.
During the ceremony, the prizes were awarded to the winners Faustino Nieto, David Ros and Loli Madrid.
Due to the high quality of the photographs presented, the jury decided to award four prizes as a trophy to Francisco Inglés, José Manuel Salmerón, Ramón Alarcón and Esther Cabello.
Also, an acknowledgment was given to the mayors who have marked the history of the municipality and have unconditionally supported the Portman Yacht Club in these 25 years: Salvador Alcaraz, Juan Antonio Sánchez-Castañol, Manuel Sanes, Francisco Bernabé and Julio García .
The Nautical Club Portman also wanted to have a gesture of recognition with the City of La Union, granting him the title of honorary partner.
Blas Isaac, president of the Portman Yacht Club, expressed his gratitude to all those people who have made it possible for the Club to turn 25.
"It seems like it was yesterday when we decided to lay the foundations of this club, 25 years working to promote the nautical sports activities of the Region and fighting for the regeneration of the Bay of Portman.
He also did not want to pass up the opportunity to thank the support of the 300 members that make up the Club, the members of the Board of Directors and sponsors.
For his part, the mayor of La Unión congratulated the whole family that makes up the Nautical Portman Club for their unconditional work, effort and sacrifice for the regeneration of the Bay and claimed the wish that Portman is a marina.
In addition, the City of La Union gave them a special recognition for their anniversary.
