This year the day of Santa Barbara was celebrated in a very special way, since in the Plenary Hall of the Town Hall, the presentation of the book "Minerals of the Union", Tomo I (posthumous work), by Luis Mariano Muelas Espinosa .
In the emotional act, the official Chronist of Mazarron and Technical Engineer of Mines, Mariano Guillén Riquelme, offered a masterly conference in what refers to mining.
In addition, it was also possible to hear an excited Pedro Pérez Nieto, an intimate friend and collaborator of the author of the book.
The Mayor, Pedro López Milán, in the closing ceremony, addressed a heartfelt words with which he reminded us of the exceptional figure of Mariano Muelas, and the great work he performed as Director of the Mining Museum during the years 2001 to 2007.
