The autonomous region has earmarked more than 672,000 euros to the device of the Surveillance and Rescue in Beaches and Rescue at Sea Region (Copla Plan) arranged in the eight coastal municipalities in the region, which this year includes 121 checkpoints spread 72 beaches and attended by 250 people.
This was explained today the director general of Public Safety and Emergency, Manuel Duran, during the presentation of the 'Enjoy safe bathing' campaign in the municipality of La Union, part of the Copla Plan, broadcasts a decalogue of guidelines to prevent accidents on the beach.
The tips of the campaign are issued in parallel in social networks, in order to have the greatest diffusion.
In them it emphasizes the need to choose for bathing beaches with surveillance service and pay attention to the color of the flags and indications of the lifeguards.
Manuel Duran recalled that this popularizing effort is in collaboration with the emergency services of the municipalities of San Pedro del Pinatar, San Javier, Los Alcázares, La Union, Cartagena, Mazarrón, Lorca and Aguilas, and the company Aquadeus.
In addition to human resources, the director recalled that the Plan Copla has 13 rescue boats, jet skis 13, 19 pirogues rescue, 56 quads, 1 scooter, five ambulances and one ATV.
It also has 27 adapted for access from the beach to the water of disabled chairs.
