The aid will be up to 15,000 euros to finance the rehabilitation and a maximum of 30,000 euros in case of reconstruction
The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Development, Mario Garcés, and the mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez, signed a collaboration agreement for the regeneration and renewal of an urban area today in the town of La Union, which includes the rehabilitation of 173 housing and redevelopment of public spaces, with an investment of more than 1.4 million euros
The regional official stressed that the agreement aims de171 rehabilitation homes with poor condition and the construction of two other houses, previously demolished, located in the towns of La Union, Roche and Portman.
Barnabas highlighted this project, included in the Housing Plan, as "a motor drive for renewal, improvement and progress of residential fabrics of cities which have a more degraded situation, recovery and functionality of urban centers
In this regard, he noted that this figure of social and economic transformation of cities has already been implemented in Murcia, Cartagena, Lorca, Torre Pacheco, Jumilla, Puerto Lumbreras, Bullas, Lorquí and Cehegín, allowing the rehabilitation of 2,539 houses and the construction of other 138.
For rehabilitation and construction of housing, the agreement provides access to respective lines of assistance which can be accessed by homeowners that will help meet up to 50 percent of the total cost of the works.
In the case of carrying out rehabilitation work, citizens can obtain assistance to reach almost 50 percent of the budget, with a maximum amount of 14,850 euros, to carry out maintenance works and intervention in common elements and facilities buildings and homes, including the installation of common affecting housing.
For the reconstruction, citizens will benefit from grants involving up to 35 percent of the cost, with a maximum of 30,000 euros per household.
