The Mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez Milan, has received the Autonomic Director of Telefonica in the region of Murcia, Angel Lloret, who submitted the mayor unionense Plan Fiber Optic deployment of the Company for the Municipality.
This is the first of its kind in La Union.
The investment is 2.5 million euros for installation and commissioning.
Telefonica will provide coverage of fiber to homes and businesses to gradually reach the figure of 7,000.
The Mayor and the Regional Director of Telefónica, have reviewed the work of the deployment to be undertaken by the company in La Union.
Angel Lloret, explained that the project aims for the expansion of fiber to the home and includes an investment program that combines the deployment of this technology with 4G.
"The installation of this infrastructure ensures that unionenses have access to a network that can increase the transmission speed as services and applications require, without having to perform new jobs in the municipality," said LLoret.
For its part, the Mayor of La Union, Pedro Lopez Milan, stressed the importance of carrying out this project, which will involve a technological breakthrough in homes and businesses, thanking Telefónica and its Autonomic Director, having chosen La Union to install this type of infrastructure.
Thus, areas that have access to this technology will be the Union, Roche and Portman, offering high-speed coverage to 85% of the citizens.
The deployment of this technology is complemented by the installation work 4G coverage in the municipality, which already offers a mobile connection art.
